California Dashboard

The California Board of Education recently launched a landmark Accountability System that provides a wealth of information for parents, educators, and the public to evaluate how well their school is doing.  It is called the California Dashboard.

Performance Standards for Academics include student results test results in English Language Arts and Math, as well as indicators of parent engagement and teacher implementation of the California State Standards.

The system is based on status, how well each school fared last year, and on change, how much they have improved or declined during the last two years.  Schools are rated on a combination of these factors and assigned one of five levels from high to low, reflected using the colors Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red.
