You may say "I don't have time" or "I don't know how I can help" or even "I don't have the skills that are needed."  There are so many ways to help, using whatever skills you have, in whatever periods of time you have available.... and plenty of people willing to show you how!


SUSD is privileged to have two parent groups that support our District:

PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION

PTSA meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 3:30.  See Calendar for locations.  PTSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that enhances the school experience for all students.

SEBASTOPOL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

SEF meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Pine Crest Library.  SEF is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) fundraising organization run by parents and teachers working with school administrators.  SEF gave the schools $60,940 in the 2009-2010 school year.


DELAC is a group of parents and school staff who advise the School Board regarding programs & services for English Learner students. Each school also has a school-focused group of parents and staff called ELAC. DELAC and ELAC meetings typically are held jointly at alternating school sites during the year. DELAC & ELAC do not have a funding source.

The school Site Council is a group of teachers, staff and parents that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The state usually provides School Improvement Program (SIP) funds to support the goals of the school plan.
