5th Grade Physical Education

These goals directly affect each student’s P.E. grade.

Standards & Concepts Covered:

Stretching/Warm-ups/Exercises

Cardiovascular [Run Days on each short Wed!]

Fitness Testing [3X]

Kicking [various]

Throwing [various]

Hitting/Striking a ball

Dribbling a ball

Volleying a ball

Jumping [from a fixed position]

Designing a music movement routine in teams

Spacing in games

Sustaining continuous movement for increasing time period

Menu Planning for improved health

Physical activity goal setting

 

State Ed Code on Illnesses/Injuries:

Upon returning from an illness absence, state of California allows up to 3 days of exclusion from P.E. activities, with a signed Parent note. Note should specify what student is limited to and/or what types of physical education activities they should be restricted from.

*Longer than 3 days requires a note from a doctor.
